Unicycle Loves You Share New Song, Opening for Telekinesis on 6.8 at Schuba’s

Unicycle Loves You – “Magic Marker Blackout (demo)”

Hard at work on their third full length, Chicago trio Unicycle Loves You has been on a prolific streak writing songs in anticipation of their Mecca Lecca debut, Failure. While Failure will not be released until early 2012, the band is eager to give a taste of what’s to come and will be debuting many of the new songs on June 8th at Schuba’s in Chicago as main support for Telekinesis.

The band is also excited to share “Magic Marker Blackout,” an early demo from the Failure sessions that hints at the raw, Guided By Voices-influenced sound of the new material.

Back in 2008, in reference to Unicycle Loves You’s self-titled debut, Pitchfork asked “Wow– do these guys already have enough hooks to last a whole album?”. The answer remains “yes!” as songwriter Jim Carroll’s natural gift for melody continues to produce memorable songs. Carroll’s latest songs reflect some of the grit that made Guided By Voices legends but much like GBV at their finest, Unicycle Loves You never lose sight of the need for a catchy melody.

Come see Chicago’s own Unicycle Loves You light up Schuba’s in support of Telekinesis on June 8th.

Stay tuned for more news regarding the 2012 release of Failure in the upcoming months.
