“Songs Of Praise & Scorn” Out Today!

I’ve been waiting for this day for quite some time. Seems like the day I met Christopher Paul Stelling at a house show at our mutual friend Spencer’s place, we knew that we’d be releasing an album together. His personality was magnetic and genuine, and his performance that night was the definition of raw intensity. Many more shows, coffees, beers, meetings, hugs, etc followed that initial meeting. Eventually, he set out to Louisville to place these songs on tape. The first recordings he sent back were solid, but failed to meet the level of excellence that we’d grown to expect from Stelling. So he went back in, dug deeper, and out came the recordings that make his debut album, Songs of Praise & Scorn. Beautifully recorded by Kevin Ratterman in his studio above a funeral home, the record is rich with passion, intense lyrical imagery, haunted vocals, and a warm intimacy.
